Say “Hello” to Tiffany!

Tiffany is an approximately 5 year old rescue from Romania and couldn’t be more unique if she tried! She came to us really shut down and whilst we have now got her to a stage where her demeanor is transformed and she will enjoy moments of joy and happiness, she is a dog who needs a patient, caring family willing to continue helping her become more confident.
Tiff loves to play with other dogs now, this took quite some time but now that she discovered this new activity she really gets into it with great joy and love.
She also does enjoy spending her time with compassionate, patient, and understanding humans but it will take some time before any relationship gets to this stage. It will require investment on the part of any family without too many expectations to start.

Our beautiful little princess is quite the escape artist though! Tiffany’s last foster placement just didn’t seem to suit her, having escaped twice prior to settling with us here at Love Underdogs. She has progressed leaps and bounds during her stay here but she is a timid and anxious dog. Her people will need to accept that she is not a dog who will be able to be off lead entirely unless within an enclosed field or garden and security will need to be very good.
We do feel that a lot of our progress is also down to her change in diet, she is on Biome by Hill's and she would absolutely need to continue being on it. Any changes we have tried to make have made her poorly and affected her behaviour.

What kind of human does Tiffany need?

Though she is a social girl once she has spent a lot of time with a person, Tiffany will need the experienced yet light touch of a gentle human. She has been forced to endure her fair share of trauma in the past and would thrive best with a parent who can both understand and support her. Tiffany needs to feel protected, secure, and safe with her
family.

Tiffany loves to go for walks and has great lead walking skills! She is good at the vets, allowing herself to be handled with ease. It takes time for her to grow accustomed to new people, and she’ll need to be visited multiple times before her new journey home.

All that aside, Tiffany will need a level of independence and values her alone-time.

What kind of home is best for Tiffany?

A calm environment in a quiet, urban setting would be ideal. Tiffany can feel over-stimulated at times and has trouble coping with loud noises, hyperactivity, or numerous distractions. Because of this, small children just aren’t for her, and an adult-only home would be best. She’ll be grateful for a new, well-socialized (preferably male) doggy sibling willing to tolerate her quirks!

Tiffany has some trouble reading other dogs. She just simply assumes they will all love spending time with her! This can be problematic in park settings with other dogs used to gradual introductions. Her ‘play stay’ is to put her front legs on the back of another dog, so she will need a doggy sibling ok with this. We also feel that she will be ok with cats, being the new comer into a household with feline residents, we think she would accept them. We always recommend dog savvy cats for dogs ho have not previously lived with cats.

Our beautiful girl has one heck of a cheeky personality, just waiting to burst forth! Will you be the one to guide Tiffany’s journey through this exciting new chapter in her life? Will you be able to notice the small improvements, congratulating her along the way? Tiffany will need a human who can believe in her abilities, treating her like a normal dog while simultaneously presenting a maternal approach.

IMPORTANT: You’ll need to always be vigilant regarding any potential escape attempts, both through the front door and back garden. Our girl is an escape artist, after all!
